Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is a tool which can be used in pre-marital counseling, marriage enrichment, consulting with businesses to help with communication and troubleshooting, and with any group of individual to communicate better and to improve understanding of self and others.  Contact me here if you are interested in this service. Disciple Bible Study and Setting Up Discipling Systems

Every year  the Board of Discipleship of the United Methodist Church trains persons to teach Disciple Bible Study in many places across the United States.  It has been a privilege to teach Disciple at several congregations using the first Disciple format, then later the new 8 week format.  For more information on Disciple, see the link to the United Methodist Publishing House’s web page. My training was in 2000.

While at Kokomo Grace United Methodist Church  1989-1993 the congregation focused strongly on small groups and evangelism.  As the former staff person there in those areas, God has given me tools to  help congregations do guided evaluation on how to improve a church’s ability to welcome new disciples for Jesus Christ.

Spiritual Formation and Direction

The late Dr. Paul Hessert at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois helped me make a beginning while a student in the Master of Divinity degree program in the area of prayer and spiritual guidance.

My formal training took place under the guidance of Dr. Dwight Judy, formerly the Director of Oakwood Spiritual Life Center in Syracuse, Indiana, earning Certificates 1-3 through Oakwood and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary Summer School.  My training with Dwight and others in our group lasted from 1997-2002.  Certification by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church in Spiritual Formation was granted to me  in 2004. 

As a member of the Fellowship of United Methodist Spiritual Directors and Retreat Leaders group  I am part of a greater network of clergy and non-clergy who can lead workshops for your congregation, district, or judicatory.  Contact me here
